Sales Engineer

The person who thrives here wants to be on every call, knows the product cold, and can walk a prospect through a demo with the same confidence they'd use to draft a proposal, and then handle the contracting admin before the end of the day. As we scale in 2026, having the right people in the right roles is critical to our growth. This hire is one of the most important we'll make this year.

About the role

This is not a traditional solutions engineer role. The person who thrives here wants to be on every call, knows the product cold, and can walk a prospect through a demo with the same confidence they'd use to draft a proposal, and then handle the contracting admin before the end of the day.

You'll shadow our team on demos during your first 90 days. By month four, you're running demos yourself, fielding integration questions live, and owning the back end of every deal from discovery to an executed MSA, so the rest of the sales team can focus on relationships and pipeline.

To be clear about what this role is not: this is not a quota-carrying AE seat, and it is not a marketing or outbound prospecting role — campaigns and lead generation sit with our marketing team. You are the product and deal-execution engine behind the sales team.

Responsibilities

Demo & product support

  • Own the product demo layer across all active sales cycles — set up, run, and debrief demos for the VP Growth, AEs, and future sales hires
  • Shadow sales reps on demos during your first 90 days; by month 4 you run demos independently
  • Handle integration, configuration, and product-fit questions live during sales conversations
  • Build and maintain demo environments tailored to community type (IL/AL/MC, CCRC, SNF) and scope (engagement, operations, POS)

Proposals, pricing & contracts

  • Build, format, send, and track proposals so AEs and the VP Growth stay focused on prospects
  • Manage contract drafting and admin in coordination with legal/finance
  • Handle RFP responses where required
  • Own the administrative back-end of every deal from proposal to signed MSA

Inbound deal flow — qualification & routing

  • First response on all inbound leads — qualify, categorize, route to the right person, same-day
  • Run first-touch discovery on qualified inbound leads before handing to an AE
  • Own Pipedrive hygiene on the inbound pipeline: log, tag, stage, move

Sales enablement

  • Help maintain demo scripts, sales collateral, and competitive positioning
  • Become the institutional product-knowledge backstop for every new sales hire who joins the team

What you bring

  • 2–4+ years in a SaaS pre-sales, solutions consulting, sales engineering, or technical account role — senior living, healthcare, or hospitality tech strongly preferred
  • Deep product curiosity — you want to understand every feature, every integration, every edge case, and you'll put the time in to get there
  • Commercial instinct — you can read a room, identify the real objection, and adjust your demo on the fly without a script
  • Strong written and verbal communication — proposal quality and discovery depth are both part of what prospects are evaluating
  • Self-directed — you see an inbound lead and you handle it without waiting to be told
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent sales cycles without sacrificing quality
  • Comfortable in a lean, fast-moving remote team where your role will grow quickly

Nice to have

  • Pipedrive or equivalent CRM experience
  • Background in or exposure to senior living operations — activities, dining, maintenance, transport
  • Experience presenting to multi-stakeholder buying committees (ED, CFO, COO, clinical leadership)
  • Familiarity with EHR/PMS integration conversations (PointClickCare, MatrixCare, Yardi, Eldermark)

What success looks like at 6 months

  • Running the majority of product demos without the VP RevOps in the room
  • Inbound leads in Pipedrive and first-touched within 24 hours, every time
  • Proposals out within 48 hours of a close conversation — no chasing
  • The VP Growth and new AEs running discovery independently, with you as demo support
  • The VP RevOps has stepped back from the frontline demo layer and is building the RevOps engine
